BC Lions Fanfest

On June 8th, we took Lily to the BC Lions Fanfest here in Abbotsford. Ok, we mostly went for Mommy and Daddy! *laughs* We dressed Lily up in her Lions outfit Nana and Grandpa Lengle got for her last season (it just fits now!) and headed out to see some players and watch some of the scrimmage.

The entrance
Korey Banks (defensive back), Lily (looking at the guy in the background) and Daddy (looking way to excited)
Paul McCallum (kicker) He was the NICEST guy there!
Javier Glatt (linebacker)
Ryan Phillips (defensive back)

At this point, I think Lily figured out what was going on and had had enough! *laughs*
Otis Floyd (line backer)
Buck Pierce (quarterback) Another one of the nice guys!
Gino Guidugli (quarterback)- as of yesterday, doesn't play for BC anymore. :( Too bad, cause he's super cute!!
Brent Johnson (defensive end)
Leo the Lion-even though it doesn't look like it, Lily really liked him (I really have an issue with the mascot, cause male lions have manes, females don't.... sooo, theoretically, Leo should be a girl*laughs*)
Taking a water break
We actually bumped into Wally Buono (coach) on our way to watch the scrimmage. It's a horrible picture, but really cool to meet him!
The band Lily danced to

Lily and Mommy (it got cold, so mitties had to be applied)
More warming up...
They warmed up for almost an hour! So, by then, Lily was ready for a nap. So, we didn't get to watch any of the scrimmage, but it was an awesome day! :)

Mommy Graduates! :)

I officially graduated from Kwantlen with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree on June 6th. It was nice to be able to walk across the stage and have that closure. This has been a long hard battle for me and my family so I'm so proud to have survived. A couple years ago, I was faced with the choice of whether or not to go back to the program after my almost fatal surgeries but I persevered. I have never taken for granted the love and support from my family and friends. It was their strength that gave me the courage to continue. So, I share this success with all of you. :) And I'd like to dedicate this accomplishment to my Mom who, through all the struggles emerged as my biggest supporter and one of my best friends. Thank you.

Here are some pictures from my graduation. :)

After the ceremony, we all went back to my Mom and Dad's place for Chinese food dinner and cake. It was wonderful to celebrate with people who have supported me.
Back at home. This is the shirt I made for my Mom. It says, "I survived my daughter's nursing degree". :)
