23 weeks and counting

Lily is 23 weeks now (almost 6 months). She's almost sitting up on her own, but wobbles a lot still. She's doing well with eating her rice cereal. We're going to start her on some more complex cereals and then hopefully some meats and vegetables. I think she even believes she's a big girl already. :) We sort of weighed her ourselves and it looks like she's about 19lbs! She's off the charts for 6 months. I take her to get her 3rd shots the first week of November, so we'll find out for sure. Being this big means finding a new car seat!! What a nightmare doing all the research and it's devastating how expensive they are! And with her growing so much, there's no garauntee that this next seat (which is supposed to turn into a booster seat and last until 80lbs) will be her last one! Oh well.
More big news: Lily's cutting her first tooth! It's the bottom left incisor! So exciting. We think it's bothering her a little bit, but it doesn't disrupt her 12 hour sleep at night (so awesome that she sleeps so well!!).
Lily still sucks her thumb, but mostly when she's tired. Her favourite toy remains her "sun", which has many interesting sides to it that make noise and has a lot of colour. She sleeps in her crib (that now has Canucks sheets and blankets on it!) and likes to cover her face with her blanket while sleeping. Lily and Mommy are still attending "mommy and me water-robics" with some of our friends and their babies. Lily really loves the water. After these are over, she will be old enough to start swimming lessons! Our next playdate with our pre-natal group is to a pumpkin patch, where the babes will be wearing their Halloween costumes! Can't wait for that!
We've spent a lot of time this past month with family and friends. The highlight of this month was a visit to see Great Grandma Mitchler. We're looking forward to Christmas that's coming way too quickly. We hope to get our first real Christmas tree (hope the cats behave!). Lily's first Christmas will be special and surrounded by love. :)

Here are some of the recent pictures of Lily:
