Lily's 1st birthday party (May 4th, 2008)

Lily's 1st Birthday Party!!
What a beautiful day for a party! It was nice and sunny with just enough clouds at Mill Lake. We all set out our lawn chairs, had some food and drinks, candies and cake. So many family and friends (about 50 people) were there to celebrate our girl's birthday. Auntie Karen made the amazing bear cakes and many people helped set up and take down (thank you so much!). It was a great day. Here are some pictures. There are way more out there, but these are the ones we got on our camera (thanks Karen and Megan for taking pictures for us)

The birthday girl trying to figure out this whole grass thing (she's always on a blanket, so this is the first time she got to walk on grass bare foot)

Even more...
The chillins
The picture board I made of Lily's first year and all the generous gifts for Lily
The food
Manly talk
I put out pens and paper for people to write wishes to Lily. They put them in a jar I set out that will be sealed and will be given to Lily to open on her 16th birthday. :)

The second cake
She did an amazing job!!!
Lily wearing her "1" bib, getting ready for cake
Now she's ready for cake
Singing to Lily...

Mommy ended up blowing it out
We left the cake infront of her to see if she would dig in but she didn't want to touch it! So we cut her a piece. What a polite girl.
Eating her cake
Mmmm...
We didn't get any good pictures of the aftermath, but it did get pretty messy

Opening her first present... she danced around with this outfit for a while. Wasn't interested in the other presents.
I gave this bear to my Grandma Hill a long time ago because I saw it on the shelf all by itself and wanted to give it a good home. My Grandma gave it to Lily because she said Lily can give it a good home now. :)

Loving this sweater, obviously!
Gloves from the Island! :)
Pop up toy Nana said has to stay at her house
She LOVED this tissue paper
Her Bible Songs CD

"Look at my new duckie, Auntie!"
She LOVED her new "Quatchi"!!!
She rolled around with it and rocked it like a baby

("Quatchi" is one of the mascots for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics)
More presents!
