Our first family sick week

Well, it's been an eventful couple of weeks! Time just doesn't slow down for anyone, does it?
Oh well, we're surviving. :) Here are some pictures and commentary about the last couple of weeks...

We went to Auntie Elda's to play with Tanya and Elda while Kevin worked on Elda's car. Lily LOVED Auntie Elda's foot massager that went round and round and even had lights! It was cute to watch her play with it.

"Hmmm... that looks cool!"
"I think I want to play with that!"
"YA! This is fun!"
Posing...
I'm gonna gettcha!

It was Daddy's 28th birthday on Sunday, January 20th. We went to Grandpa and Grandma Mitchler's for a great ham dinner. Auntie Erica and Uncle Brent were also there to celebrate.

Soooo... we thought this was really cute how Lily just snuggled up to Daddy's chest at dinner time (OBVIOUSLY it IS cute) but we later found out that she was running a fever that was a start to a HORRIBLE night.

So cute! She rarely does this!
Awww...

When we finally got home, her fever was over 39 degrees!! Kevin and I FREAKED out! I tried to give her Tylenol, which she gagged on and then threw up ALL OVER Daddy. It was very scary for us. She has never been sick before. We quickly drew a bath for her. Both Kevin and I were sobbing while she shivered in the luke warm bath. It was a VERY long night. I slept on her floor beside her crib and checked her temperature every couple of hours and kept a cold cloth on her head. She is an amazing sick baby! She didn't cry much. She just looked miserable and weak.

Fever-pink cheeks!

We ALL ended up getting sick. Kevin and I got the full on cold a day after Lily did. We're still healing from it. Lily has been doing better and fever-free most of the last 2 days. She's still a little irritable, but she's a trooper. Just look at this video! This is our sick baby...

Hard to believe she's battling a cold and has a fever of 38 degrees!

Reading her books while we watch hockey

We're kind of glad we got this "first cold" over with now before I get into my practicum (which starts Feb 1st). It was hard on all of us, but we're making it. :) For me, this was completely different than taking care of patients in hospital. This is my child. I mean, I knew what I had to do to help her, I even have extensive nursing knowledge to utilize, but there was an emotional fear and anxiety that I can't explain. I'm so glad I had Kevin and my mom backing me up!

Here's something for a laugh.
Moxie likes to bug us when we're folding laundry (especially Lily's laundry)... and this is what happened when Kevin had had enough! *laughs*

Nice bib!
