Lily is 3 1/2 weeks old! :)

Moxie in Lily's bed! (bad girl! but sooo cute!)

Lily at 3 weeks old
Lily is changing every day! We wish she could stay small forever! But we are enjoying that she is more alert now and even flashes a smile every once in a while. :)
We've stayed busy by visiting friends and family, having people over, going to the mall, going for walks and attending special events like, the May Day parade in Fort Langley, Grandpa Mitchler's 60th birthday party and a surprise baby shower given by my nursing pals!
Kevin's back at work now. He's sleeping better, don't worry. It helps that Lily is almost sleeping through the night, from about 1am-6am! :) We are looking forward to summer. We can't wait to take her camping and we're hoping to take a road trip out to Edmonton to see the Lengle side of the family in September. (and I'm hoping to convince Kevin to let us spend a weekend in Osoyoos with Grandpa and Grandma Mitchler at the end of June!! Wish me luck!)
I'm so excited to put Lily in all these cute summer outfits! Thank you to everyone for all the cards and gifts for Lily and Kevin and I. Thank you for spending time with us,and cuddling with her! (and for doing our laundry and dishes and for fixing things around the house, Grandpa, Nana and kids! Thank you!!!)
The cats are doing well. They are getting more bold, as I have found Moxie snuggling in Lily's bassinet! (they're not allowed in there) Bert is more independent but Moxie is still trying to be Daddy's little girl! LOL
Hope you are all well! Take care!

Almost 2 weeks old!

Quality time with Dad
Well, it's been almost 2 weeks already!
Lily has grown so much! She looks different every day! She had her first doctor's visit yesterday. All her reflexes are fine, etc and she now weighs 8lbs 9oz! She's gonna be a big girl!Lily is the best baby! She sleeps through most of the night and only cries when her diaper needs to be changed. She is more alert now during her awake times and loves looking around and talking to anyone around who will listen. She loves napping in her swing and in Dad's arms. Kevin is a natural father. He dotes on his daughter and loves interacting with her. It's been so great having him home for 2 weeks! He cooks every meal and makes sure I get my sleep. I'm so in love with this man! :)
We've had a lot of visitors at our place and have gone visiting others as well. Mother's Day was a busy but fun day. We went to church in the morning, where Lily's Natal Rose was on the altar. We took Grandma Mitchler (Carole) out for lunch. Then we went to see Great Grandma Pudleiner. And finished the day by going to the facility where Great Grandma Mitchler lives. It was great to spend time with family. Lily gave me a ring with her birth stone (emerald) in it and Kevin got me a spa gift certificate to a spa that's near our place! (I'm so excited to use it!) What a great Mother's Day!
This long weekend we're visiting with family from the island and then having a BBQ at the Lengle's where we get to have Grandpa's famous chickens! :)
Hope everyone is happy and healthy. Take care of each other and appreciate the little things everyday!

Lily Amelie
Our baby girl
Look at her hair! (no wonder I had heart burn!)
On May 6th, we went in the morning to the hospital for the second round of induction. Shortly after the appliation, I started to feel some contractions. They decided to admit us, after a long debate, as there wasonly 1 bed left (which should be left open for emergencies). We wereadmitted into our room and were waiting for the doctor to check on our progress. After checking, the doctor mentioned that she would like to breakmy water, but it was just too busy to do so, as there were 5 other firsttime mom's already labouring on the floor and it would be too much if I started as well. But ironically, my water broke only an hour later on it'sown! Things started to move quickly! My mom and sister, Karen as well as Kevin (ofcourse) were in the room the whole time. It was so comforting to have them there during the labouring. I used the nitrous oxide for pain but needed some morphine later on. The doctor checked again and suggested thatan epidural would help the baby to come down, as she was riding high still. So, luckily, the anesthetist was just next door and put in the epidural rather quickly. Really soon after that, I had an urge to push. And less thanan hour later, she arrived! :) She had a little bit of a fever when she arrived, but it came down soon after. After being stitched up, I finally got to hold our baby girl, our Lily! The immediate family came in right aftershe was born, which was so great! (even though house keeping hadn't been in to clean up properly yet! I apologize for that, you guys!)
She weighed 8lbs 5 oz and was 21 inches long. She has a lot of dark brown hair with blonde highlights! (Don't know where the highlights came from!)She has long fingers and beautiful big blue eyes. Not really sure what features are from which of us, but that's ok. She's perfect. We spent Sunday and Monday night at the hospital and came home on Tuesday afternoon. She has the most wonderful temperament. She sleeps A LOT andbarely cries. She is feeding well, after a little bit of a struggle (Mom's know what I'm talking about!). She still has her nights and days mixed up but we'll figure out a schedule sooner or later. She moves around a lot, loves having her hands free and feet out of the blanket! We found out shedoesn't like Kevin's singing, which is hilarious. The cats are slowly adjusting. Bert likes to peek over her basinet to see where the squirmingnoises are coming from. Moxie likes to watch us feed and change her, she'salmost protective of her. We hope they will all get along soon.
We are absolutely in love with her! We are so excited to have everyone meether. We are going to attempt to take her to church for Mother's Day on Sunday. So, we'll see how her first outing goes. We have to shop for some pretty dresses now that we know she's a girl :)
Thanks to everyone for their support and love and messages of congratulations. We are so blessed and are so lucky to have all of you in our lives.
